- SIXERS 114
- WIZARDS 122
The NBA injury bug strikes again! This time it happened to the MVP candidate from the Philadelphia 76ers… Joel Embiid.
Embiid went up hard on a drive during the first quarter. He landed even harder on his backside.
It appeared that Embiid may have hurt his tailbone, but the official diagnosis is right knee soreness… he would not return.
This along with Russell Westbrook’s amazing triple-double (19 points, 21 rebounds, 14 assists), is the reason why the Sixers didn’t get a chance to celebrate a sweep.
The Wizards also faced some advisory in the game. They lost their sharpshooter, Davis Bertans, mid-way through the third quarter.
This was a big blow for the Wizards as Bertans was playing very well. He scored 15 points on 4-7 shooting and 3-6 from three-point land.
They also overcame Westbrook’s horrific shooting night.
Yes, I said Westbrook helped lead the Wizards to the victory with his triple-double, which he did. But he also almost shot the Wizards into a sweep.
Westbrook finished shooting a chilling 3-19, but at the end of the day, the Wizards got the W and live to fight another day (that day will be Wednesday, June 2nd at 7 PM).
- JAZZ 120
- GRIZZLIES 113
The number one seed Utah Jazz looked to be in trouble after Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies stole the game.
Grant it, the Jazz were without their best player, Donovan Mitchell, in game one. Mitchell came back to play in games 2 and 3, and this seemed to change the tide.
In game 4, it wouldn’t be any different. The Jazz would get a big performance from Mitchell, who scored 30 and dished out 8 assists, all while holding Morant to 23 points.
Game 5 will be played on Wednesday, June 2nd. Will the Jazz close out the series, or can the young Grizzlies keep their season alive?
